Endodontist ~ Renee Litvak, DDS
Dr. Renee Litvak was raised in New York City, where she practiced Endodontics for over ten years before relocating to South Florida. She is a graduate of Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine, where she earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery and Postdoctorate Certificate in Endodontics. Prior to her dental training, Dr. Litvak earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. From 2004-2008, Dr. Litvak served as an Assistant Clinical Professor within the Division of Endodontics at Columbia University. She is a Board Member of the Dean’s Advisory Committee for Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine at Columbia University, where she has served as the President of the Alumni Association as well as the President of the Young 1852 Society. Dr. Litvak is also a Board Member of the Volunteer Development Committee for Columbia University, as well as a Board Member of the Columbia University Alumni Association. She is an elected member of the American College of Dentistry, a Board Eligible candidate for the American Board of Endodontics, and a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the Florida Dental Association and the American Dental Association. Renee is ecstatic to now be a resident of Florida, in addition to her husband and two children.
Periodontist ~ Paul Fotek, DMD
Dr. Paul Fotek, a Board Certified Periodontologist and Implant Specialist, has continuously surpassed his professional and educational endeavors. He obtained his Doctorate in Dental Medicine in Poland where his roots lie. He then shortly thereafter moved on to Toronto, Canada. After practicing general dentistry for a few years, he then advanced his career at The University of Michigan School of Dentistry. In 2007, he received his Certificate in Periodontology, where he was later awarded a teaching fellowship. While a resident at the University of Michigan, Dr. Fotek was a Clinical and Surgical Instructor. He also completed training to perform Wilckodontics® and completed the Misch International Implant Institute surgical training.
Dr. Fotek made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of his specialty and became an accredited Periodontist with the American Board of Periodontology. Board Certification includes demonstrating a comprehensive mastery of all phases of periodontal disease treatment and in the placement of dental implants.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Fotek is a caring, meticulous doctor who makes his patients feel at ease knowing they are in phenomenal, talented hands. Exceptional care, aesthetic satisfaction and patients’ health and well-being is of utmost concern to Dr. Fotek. His devotion to his patients does not go unnoticed and is admirable amongst many of his peers. It is a pleasure and honor to have him as part of the TLC Family.
Dr. Paul Fotek is an active member of numerous local, national and international dental societies. His passions also include his wife and two beautiful children.
Prosthodontist ~ Judith Gartner, DMD
Dr. Judith Gartner, Director of Quality Improvement for TLC Dental, received her dental degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas in 1993. After moving to the U.S. she completed an advanced graduate program in Prosthodontics and earned a Master of Medical Sciences degree at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 1997. In addition, she completed the advanced standing program and obtained her DMD degree from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in 2001. She has been in private practice and teaching in the Department of Prosthodontics at NSU since then. Dr. Gartner has lectured nationally and internationally and has published numerous professional articles. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the American College of Prosthodontics, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. She is an evaluator for the esteemed Clinicians Report, an non-profit testing center for new products and techniques. Dr. Gartner is fluent in Spanish, Hebrew and English.
Orthodontist ~ Molly McCarty, DDS
Dr. McCarty received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee in 2003. She then moved on to complete her residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Jacksonville University in 2005.
Our doctor is thrilled to be providing premier orthodontic treatment as part of the TLC Dental Family and is currently seeing patients in our East Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood and North Lauderdale locations. Dr. McCarty stays abreast of the latest advances in orthodontics through numerous continuing education courses.
In her time away from the office, she enjoys tennis, photography, and spending time with friends and family. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon – Daniel Torres, DMD
Dr. Torres is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has had experience in private practice as well as academia. He has served as a full time post graduate professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Florida College of Dentistry and at the Center for Implant Dentistry. His academic experience and continual learning helps him employ the latest in evidence based care to consistently provide safe and predictable results. His focus is on complex extractions, dental implants, full arch implant solutions, bone grafting, TMJ disorders, trauma, pathology, and orthognathic surgery.
Dr Torres lives locally and enjoys being active in the community. He has been a long time volunteer at Caridad Health Center and is a co-founder and advisor to the Florida Senior Smiles Project. He is happily married to his wife, Erika, and is a proud father of two boys, Sebastian and Gabriel.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon – Joel Berley, DMD
Dr. Joel Berley grew up on the Jersey shore, and as the son of a General Dentist, was interested in dentistry from a young age. From spending time at his father’s office, he learned the importance of going the extra mile for every patient to ensure they are treated with respect, honesty, and careful attention to detail.
He received his BA from Rutgers University as a member of the General Honors Program. He then attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he was exposed to world class educators in a unique learning environment and was able to obtain a strong background in medicine as well as all aspects of dentistry. He continued on for his specialty training at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. The oral and maxillofacial surgical residency at Montefiore is a very selective program renowned for its full scope of surgical and anesthesia training as well as a very heavy focus on implant dentistry and bone grafting.
Dr. Berley’s special interest is in complex implant procedures for individual teeth replacement or full mouth reconstruction. He regularly performs these types of surgeries as well as the hard and soft tissue grafting procedures that are essential to ensuring optimal results.
It is his privilege and pleasure to treat every patient with a gentle touch and care for them like they were family. For those with anxiety about surgery, he is happy to provide IV sedation or nitrous to make the experience as easy as possible.
When away from the office he enjoys playing guitar, basketball, golf, biking, sculpting, going to the beach, and spending time with his wife Lauren, his two daughters Kira and Ella, and his son Benjamin.
