Dr. Steven D. Muckey is the founder of TLC Dental and the manager of its three dental practices in Florida.  He has been a licensed and practicing dentist since 1980, and since that time has developed and successfully run several dental practices and dental management companies throughout the state.  Dr. Muckey received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Georgetown University and his Bachelor of Arts from UCLA.  He served as  a Clinical Research Evaluator with world renown dentist, Dr. Gordon Christensen, for over 17 years, and for the past 12 years has been the only Florida licensed dentist certified as a Quality Assurance Auditor/Consultant (in the state of Florida). Patients can feel secure that the quality improvement and quality management protocols in all TLC Dental offices are the benchmark for all other practices in the state.  Previously, Dr. Muckey was a Clinical Adjunct Professor at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, and has lectured domestically and internationally. He is also a member of the Credentialing Committee for one of the largest insurance companies in the state. Dr. Muckey is a member of the American Dental Association,  Florida Dental Association, Atlantic Coast District Dental Society,  Academy of General Dentistry, Broward County Dental Association,  Georgetown University Alumni Association of Ft. Lauderdale, and an interviewer for the Georgetown University Admissions Committee.

Dr. Ria Coutras achieved her dental degree with honors  from McGill University (Montreal, Quebec) in  2003. An active leader in student government she was Social Representative and organized the first "White Coat Ceremony". Dr. Coutras moved to South Florida where she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine.  Dr. Coutras has special training in restoring dental implants including implant supported over-dentures and cosmetic implants. Many of her patients' beautiful smiles have been showcased at  seminars for her dental colleagues. In addition, she has  lectured on topics such as cosmetic implant restorations. Dr. Coutras is fluent in Greek, Spanish, French and English.

Dr. Paul Talchik “DOC” received his doctorate at the venerable University of Detroit Dental School in 1970.  Since then, for his patient’s benefit, he has maintained his edge with countless continuing education courses and study in virtually all endeavors of modern dentistry.  He is an active member of the Broward County Dental Association, Atlantic Coast Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.  Your advocate with decades of finely honed skills and knowledge, he welcomes his loyal patients of three decades and you the new TLC patients as well.  His methodical, careful, experienced approach to his patients’ dental needs and journeys makes for a gentle, pain free, personal, and forever meaningful relationship with Dr. Talchik and TLC Dental.

Maria Teresa Cook, DDS received dental degrees from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry and from Escuela Colombiana de Medicina "University of Bosque", Bogota, Colombia. In Colombia she interned at National Neurological Institute, Children's Cardiology Institute, San Jose Hospital, and the Oncology institute in Bogota. She worked for 5 years with the government and private practice, and won a prestigious national award for her  research with Down Syndrome Patients. In addition to earning her DDS at LSU, Dr. Cook completed  General Dentistry Residency Programs at St. Vincent St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, and Louisiana State University, Charity Hospital. She excels and  loves all phases of general dentistry and has a wealth of knowledge from her passion for cosmetic dentistry, crowns and bridges, root canals, and veneers. When not  furthering her thirst for knowledge in advanced education seminars, Dr. Cook is an avid traveler. She is fluent in both Spanish and English.

Dr. Rania Kashlan is a graduate from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. After graduation from the college, Dr. Kashlan completed a general residency program at Loyola University Medical Center. During her one year residency program, Dr. Kashlan gained extensive experience in restorative dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, treating pediatric patients and medically comprised patients. Prior to moving to Florida, Dr. Kashlan was a partner with her sister in  a cosmetic and family practice in Darien, Illinois. Dr. Kashlan enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with a special interest in conservative preparation of teeth and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Kashlan stays up to date by attending continuing education courses and is an active member in the Academy of General Dentists and American Dental Association. Dr. Kashlan enjoys spending time with her family and friends, skiing, playing tennis, and traveling.

 



Dania and North Lauderdale

Jennifer Sorroza-Taylor earned her pre-doctoral dental degree in 1999 from Universidad de Guayaquil, Ecuador. After  working as a General Dentist in Ecuador she  spent a year at the New York University College of Dentistry as a Resident in the Advanced Program for International Dentists in Prosthodontics. Her clinical experience includes surgical extractions, clinical crown lengthening surgeries, fixed and removable prosthodontics, basic restorative work and placement and restoration of implants. After NYU, Dr. Sorroza-Taylor continued her education in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine between 2002-2005.  Her Post Doctoral Residency included programs in Advanced Education in General Dentistry, Special Needs Dentistry, Patients with Mental Retardation & Developmental Disabilities, Alzheimer's Disease and Geriatrics and Implant Certification 3I. Dr. Sorroza-Taylor stays up to date by attending continuing education courses and is an active member of the American Dental Association, The Florida Dental Association and The Atlantic Coast District Dental Association. Dr. Sorroza-Taylor also enjoys spending time with her family, and friends, rollerblading, going to the park with her two kids, and traveling. Dr. Sorroza-Taylor is fluent in both Spanish and English.




Dania

Dr. Bill Abbo earned his dental degree from the Santa Maria University in Caracas, Venezuela in 2002. He completed a 3-year Master Program in Prosthodontics at the University of Michigan in 2006 and was then appointed Clinical Lecturer for their Prosthodonic Department. While teaching, he practiced dentistry in a private dental practice, as well as in the University of Michigan Prosthodontic clinic. Dr. Abbo has published numerous articles in various dental journals and is fluent in both Spanish and English.





Dania

Dr. Judith Gartner
received her dental degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas in 1993. After moving to the U.S.  she completed an advanced graduate program in Prosthodontics and earned a Master of Medical Sciences degree at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 1997. In addition, she completed the advanced standing program and obtained her DMD degree from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in 2001. She has been in private practice and teaching in the Department of Prosthodontics at NSU since then. Dr. Gartner has lectured nationally and internationally and has published numerous professional articles. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the American College of Prosthodontics, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Gartner is fluent in Spanish, Hebrew and English.
